This highly detailed replica Steam Engine comes mounted on a black plastic plinth, encased with a clear plastic display cover with cardboard sleeve endorsed ‘The Great Dorset Steam Fair 2017’.

John Fowler & Co. Engineers of Leathley Road, Hunslet, Leeds produced traction engines, ploughing instruments and equipment as well as railway equipment. John Fowler was born in Wiltshire in 1826, he is credited with the invention of steam driven ploughing engines.

This Fowler BB1 class ploughing engine, No.15222was built in 1918. The 16NHP compound cylinder engine carries the registration CT 4289 and the name ‘Bristol Rover’. The ploughing engine and living wagon are both owned by Alan Sparkes and are regular visitors to The Dorset Steam Fair.
